| Game Notes: Kelowna Cubs overcame one bad inning to beat the Fraser Valley Chiefs 9-6 in their third game of the Abbotsford Premier Tournament on Saturday morning. The Cubs scored singles in the first and second innings to jump into a 2-0 lead. Winning pitcher Spencer Kilpatrick lost the strike zone for a while in the third, and the Chiefs pushed five runs across the plate. The Cubs exploded for six of their own in the fourth, taking an 8-5 lead that they never relinquished. Brandon Kaufman threw 2.3 strong innings of relief for Kelowna to get the save. Jason Gradidge had a solo home run for the Cubs. Jordan Valgardson hit two doubles, while Mike Persson and Cam Kryzanowski also slashed two hits for the Cubs. | ||||||||||
