DIVISION LEADERS TANGLE, IN WHAT MAY BE A PREVIEW OF THE OVERALL WOODBAT CHAMPIONSHIP: National Division Leading Boomers and The American Division Leading Bears met on Sunday, and It was the Bears who Brought their "A" Game, and Defeated Boomers by a Score of 10-1. Chris Heiman turned in a Pitching Performance that would have made Greg Maddux Proud, Heiman Threw a 9 Inning Complete Game Scattering 9 Hits allowing 1 Earned Run While not Walking a Batter and Striking Out 2. The Offense Provided Plenty of Support Led By Kevin Hughes who had an Outstnding Game With 4 Hits (Including 2 Doubles), 2 Runs Scored, a Stolen Base and 3 RBI's. It was Infielders Scott Bergset and Ed King who flexed their Muscles, Each had a Home Run to Leftfield and a Double, King had 3 Hits Total with a run scored and an RBI. Bergset had 2 Runs Scored and 3 RBI's. Once again Leadoff Hitter Dave Scaringe Set the Tone for Everyone Reaching Base 4 Out of 5 At Bats Collecting 3 Hits (Including a Double) and Scoring 3 Runs. |
