| Game Notes: Very entertaining game all around. Clayton Thom put one over the left field fence to add to the excitement. Colin Wright scored in the final inning on a passed ball for what the Royals hoped would be the winning run. The Pirates answered with back to back hits to score the tying and winning runs.
