| Game Notes: The Waukesha Firebirds (Black) Team lost 7-6 to the Brookfield Bulldogs in a non- League game at Brookfield. The Firebirds jumped out to a 4-0 lead , but the Bulldogs fought back to get the game to a 6-4 score going to the 7th inning when they scored 3 runs to win the game. Both teams battled through some very cold and bad weather to play this close of a game shows that both these teams really should be proud of their efforts. The Firebirds defense that has really been the strong part in holding the opposition down failed to make the big play when needed tonight. Also we Must get better at running bases. We will work on this and I'm sure we will. We are running ourselves into bad outs. Now with this said I must give all of our pitchers a big pat on the back. To pitch as well as Samuel Vissers and Conor Sherman and Ty Neuschaefer did in this type of weather conditions was awesome. You showed me how bad you all want to succeed. A game that ends the way this one did with a walk off home run is a tough way to lose. But please realize one play did not lose this game and not one person lost this game. We made alot of mistakes that cost us this game and we win as a team and we lose as a team. So the best way to answer back from this is hard work at practice and say to yourself that game is history and come out next Tuesday ready to fight hard again. I will finish this with I am proud of ALL you Boys and keep your heads up and keep playing this hard and we will be very successful. Coach Lawrence | ||||||||||
