Game Notes: The U12 Waukesha Firebirds (Black) Team improved to 5-0 in The Great Lakes Youth Baseball League with a hard fought 8-6 win over the U11 Waukesha Firebirds (Black) Team. Both teams would not quit and battled all the way to the end. The U12 Firebirds jumped out to a 3-1 lead with the help of some timely hits by Brandon Berghoefer and Alex Lawrence and Brian Hepworth and Darin Howell. But the U11 Firebirds would not quit. They answered back with a 5 run outburst in the 5th inning to take the lead 6-3 going into the top of the 6th inning. It was time to see if the U12 Firebirds could fight back. And fight back they did. Samuel Vissers started the inning with a single and then Ty Neuschaefer followed with a walk and then a BIG double by Brian Hepworth and that got the U12 Firebirds back to 6-5 and then Mitch Ducett drew a walk and then a big hit by Brandon Berghoefer scored the 2 final runs to complete the comeback and give the U12 Firebirds the 8-6 victory. Samuel Vissers gave 4 strong innings of pitching and Mitch Ducett closed out the game and secured the win.
