Notes:
Kelley & Spika (5) After falling behind 6-0, Eastview battled back with 6 of their and then added another in the 6th to take the lead. Spika came in relief for his first win and shut the door in the seventh. Eastview committed only 2 errors on defense and had some timely hits as they only had 7 as a team but made them count. After tying the game in the 5th, Eastview got a leadoff single by Groskreutz who was sacrificed to second by Huhner. After a groundout, Groskretuz was standing on third base with 2 outs. Eagan's pitcher was in the windup and so witha 6-6 tie Groskreutz took off towards home and made it safely. The Lightning took the lead 7-6 on a steal of home plate, giving many fans thoughts of Rickey Henderson. With the win, Eastview moves on to face Waconia in the quarterfinals. Waconia went 2-0 in pool play and won their first round game by 10. Tyler Brodeur will take the bump in the quarterfinal game. Spika (W, 1-1) |
