Game Notes: Jeff Anderson's two run homer in the bottom of the fifth provided the winning margin, as the Kelowna Cubs edged the Vancouver Mounties 7-6 in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader at Elks Stadium. Cam Kryzanowski, Ryan McCredie and Ryan Franz doubled for the Cubs, while Jordan Neufeld had two singles and Mike Stearns had one single. Jordan Valgardson picked up the win, and Neufeld closed off the last two innings to pick up the save. Mike Davis took the loss on the mound for the Mounties. Andrew Quaale led Vancouver at the plate with a homer, double, single and five rbi's. |
