| Game Notes: On the heels of a club-record eleven game win streak, the Thunder (17-3, 7-2) dropped its second straight, as Burnsville took game one of the two-game, division-deciding series, 8-4. The Pythons pounded out 13 hits, capitalized on two Thunder errors, and stole a season-high five bases against the home team. The Python's number nine hitter went 4-for-4 and the defense did not commit an error. After Burnsville took an early lead, Joel Bertelsen's 2-run blast in the second tied the game at two before the club earned its only lead of the game in the bottom of the third. The Pythons answered with a three-run fourth that gave them a two-tally lead they would never relinquish. The clubs meet again Monday, July 6 in a game that will likely determine the South Division winner and an automatic berth to the State tournament. | ||||||||||
