Game Notes: JV's travel to Georgetown and have to battle the gnats and the Bulldogs, and succumb to both, dropping a close contest 4-3. Despite struggling at the plate with 14 K's, the Braves stayed in the game with opportunistic scoring in the third and sixth inning. Kyle Smith (5k, 1 er) and Chase Clark ( 2ip, 4k) handled the pitching duties while the offense managed only six singles - Dalton Smith (1-1, hbp, sac, rbi), Tyler Dillon (1-4, r), Chase Keevert (1-4, r), Hayden Miller (1-3, rbi), Trevor Bigham (1-2, bb), and Kyle Smith (1-4). Tenth Man honors go to Dalton Smith's grandmother who produced a bottle of bug repellant in the third inning and sprayed down the team. However, she neglected to offer any to the Home Plate Umpire who rang up all three Braves batters in the final frame. |
