Game Notes: JV's finish the season on a winning note 9-1 over St. James, and in the process secure a winning record of 9-8 for the year. The Braves loaded the lineup with varsity sophomores as a tune-up for this weeks playoff game, and got immediate results with a six run outburst in the first inning. They tacked on three runs in the fifth and road a solid defense and good pitching to the victory. The defensive play was punctuated by an over the shoulder web-gem from Walker Darnell that saved at least a run by the Sharks. Kyle Smith struck out eight in five innings allowing one unearned run, and Dylan Thompson and Chase Clark closed the door with an inning apiece of shutout ball. The offense had timely hitting and eight walks to help in their run production, led by Hayden Miller (2-3, r, 3rbi). Also making contributions were Kenny Taylor (1-1, 2b, r), Kyle Smith (1-2, r, rbi), Charlie Nicholson (1-4, r, rbi), Walker Darnell (1-4, rbi), Chase Keevert (2rbi), Manny Berdayes (3bb, 2r, sb), Cole Cook (2r), and Tyler Dillon (bb, r).
