Game Notes: Grant Malm in his 1st start in the BCPBL threw 4 innings, gave up a single hit, allowed no runs and struck out 4 on the way to his first victory. Behind an impressive pitching performance, the Twins ran up and 8 -0 lead before the Cubs notched single runs in the 6th and 7th innings. Julian Procopio, another Twins thrower appearing in his first PBL game relieved Malm in the 5th and held the Cubs to 2 runs to seal the victory. The Cubs were confined to 4 hits by the rookie North Shore throwers including a home run from Dan Novakowski. Liam Foran was 2 for 3 with a hard hit triple and scored 3 runs. Catcher Zack Ross was 3 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs. |
