| Game Notes: The Cubs got an early jump on a lethargic North Shore squad, got off to a 4 run lead in the 1st and held the lead for the balance of the game despite a late innings ralley by the Twins. The Cubs offense racked up 7 hits and benefited from 7 walks given up by the Twins pitchers. The middle of the Cubs order was productive with Dan Novakowski going 2 for 5 including a double, scoring 2 runs and picking up an RBI. Mike Sterns picked up 3 runs and a RBI. Casey Wenzel 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Twins offense came from Zack Ross 2 for 3 and Matt Tayor who had a big day at the plate going 2 for 3, scoring a run and picking up 2 RBIs on a 2 run line shot over the left field wall. | ||||||||||
