Perlenfein Eastview (6-5) pulled through in a tight one 4-1 against Oakdale. With the win, the Lightning clinched the 2nd seed and play the winner of the other pool in the semifinals. Perlenfein (4 H, 1 ER) went the distance, allowing 0 walks and striking out 6. He helped his cause on offense by scoring 3 runs and hitting a double. The Lightning played some solid defense, led by catcher Joe Furnstahl who showed great vocal leadership throughout the game and he threw 2 Oakdale runners out on the bases. Eastview will send Jack Buck (0-1, 8.85) out for his team-leading 4th start. The Lightning will most likely go with a 'pitching-by-committee' type approach in the Championship bracket.
