In a rare pitchers duel, Socastee prevailed over Murrells Inlet 4-1 on the home field. Both pitchers went the distance with Matt McKinney (7ip, 4h, 4k, 101 pitches) coming out on top. The offense put together 10 hits but struggled to score, only generating one run through five innings. The Braves got the insurance they needed in the sixth plating three runs, the key hit being a two-run double from late inning replacement Charlie Nicholson. Hayden Miller (3-3, 2r, rbi) and Matt McKinney (2-3, 2b) collected half of the Braves hits, and were supported offensively by Charlie (1-1, 2b, 2rbi), Kyle Smith (1-2, 2b, rbi), Manny Berdayes (1-3, r), Walker Darnell (1-3, r) and Coby Guilbeau (1-4). |
