| Game Notes: The Popes and the Knights from Nicolet were locked in a scoreless duel through 5. Pius managed a run in the 6th but Nicolet parlayed 5 hits and one big error in to 7 runs in their half, to win going away 7-2. Freshman Steve Lenski making his varsity debut had the Knights off-balance for most of the game, scattering 3 hits through the first 5 before the fateful 6th. The Popes pounded out 8 hits, 5 in the last two innings, and were led by Tom Hoffman who went 3-3, and Tyler Ignaczak who knocked in a run on two singles. | ||||||||||
