Game Notes: The Thunder lost to Lakeville on Championship Sunday of the District Tournament, 9-8. With the loss, the top-seeded Thunder was eliminated from post-season play and was denied its third straight trip to the state tournament. True to the character of the club, the Thunder rallied from an early 7-1 deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. After Lakeville scored two in the top half of the seventh to lead 9-7, the Thunder stormed back to cut the lead to one and put the tying and winning runs in scoring position before the rally ended. Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe (RBI, RS) went 6 1/3 innings, yielding three earned runs and striking out seven. Alex Johnson had three hits including a triple, scored twice and knocked in two to spark the offense. Josh "Future" Retka drove in three on a single and a double; Ryan "Big Ticket" Stepan scored two runs and knocked in one with a sac fly. Chad Eul (BB, HBP) reached base for the fifth straight game. Derek Jacobson, who was day-to-day with an injury, came off the bench to draw a walk in his only plate appearance of the tournament. Jared Johnson scored two runs and "Easy" Eddie Hagberg (RS) reached twice; Andy Cutter (1B) and Beau Jacobson (BB) each reached base once. The Thunder ended its season at 14-11 overall, 8-4 in league play.
