| Game Notes: The Pope defense fell apart and the offense was asleep as Merrillville eliminated Pius in a quarterfinal game at the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis. Starter Jim Foy pitched valiantly allowing only 4 hits in 6 innings. But the defense let in 3 unearned runs to seal the Popes fate. Of the 4 hits the offense managed to provide, 3 were of the infield variety, with only Kevin Robinson's RBI double reaching the outfield. | ||||||||||
