Notes:
WP: C. Jones (4-1) The Jays advance to the title game of the Belgrade Invitational after beating the Boise Gems 3-2 in eight innings. The rally in the eighth began with back to back singles by Brad McLeod and Kellen Jones. Then, with two outs Nick Ferraro singled to right field scoring Sheldon Postnikoff to give the Jays the lead 3-2. Kellen Jones was the offensive highlight of the game batting 3-3 with two doubles. The game was really about pitching. Connor Jones worked eight complete innings to pick up his fourth win of the seaoson. Jones allowed only one earned run, four hits while tallying four strikeouts. The win comes after Jones six inning victory over Lewiston in the Trail home opener. The Jays will face the Centralia Lizards tomorrow for the opportunity to win their third tournament in as many chances. The Jays improve their record to 13-6 with the victory. |
