Notes:
Woods & Ritacco (5) Eastview lost a heartbreaker in their tournament opener against Prior Lake. The Lightning and Prior Lake battled back and forth with some masterful pitching and some great defense. Tied at 2 with 2 outs in the 7th, Eastview called up Jake Vossen to pinch hit. He hit an 0-2 pitch down the RF line for an RBI double, bringing in Tyler Velin. However, the Lightning gave up two in the bottom of the 7th, losing their fourth consecutive game, three of which in their opponents' last at bats. Starting pitcher Corey Woods went a career high 4 innings (R, H, 8 K), keeping Prior Lake hitters off balance. Ritacco (L, 3 R) came in relief and took the loss. The offense was led by Christian (2 hits, rbi) and Vossen (PH rbi double). The Lightning play host Belle Plaine in the second game of pool play. Ritacco (L, 0-1) |
