Game
Notes:
Revenge was suite for the Cascade Natural Gas team, as they defeated Athlete's Corner 7-3 Wednesday night, behind the pitching of lefty Tyler Graves. The difference in the game was defense, where the Athletes made several uncharacteristic mistakes in addition to the 2 official errors charged to them. This lead to extra bases and extra baserunners on balls that should have been caught. On offense, two key plays hindered AC's comeback. First, Lars Ertolacci was out trying to stretch a single to a double (this one's on coach Kirkpatrick, Lars; he sent you). Second, on a bunt by Eli Lovingfoss, Zac Williams dive nicked the speedy McDonald, who was trying to score from 3rd. On the plus side, Zac McDonald had 2 hits, and Sean Atkins, Taylor Beck and Branick Herold scored. Beck and McDonald gave up only 1 hit and 1 run in 3 innings of relief pitching. |
