Game
Notes:
The Renegades take their first loss of the season, falling 5-4 to their home park rivals, the Comets. The stat line is very telling with 4 Renegade errors leading to three unearned runs. The highlight of the game had to be the triple play. With the bases loaded and no outs, the Comets launched a shot into the gap in right-center. CF Nick was shaded to left-center, so the Comet coaches were waving the runners around. Nick cruised into the gap, made the catch, and hit the relay man who then sent the ball to second, then to third, to double (triple?) off the Comet runners. That was the good news; now, the bad. In the bottom of that same inning, the Renegades scored a run, then had the bases loaded with no outs and couldn't get another run across. Brian had two hits (3B) & Austin L had two hits (2B). Drew and Clint added singles. Ryan started and went four strong innings, getting 4 Ks and allowing no earned runs on three hits (only one hit reached the OF!). Lucas pitched the last two innings, getting 3 Ks and allowing only one bloop-opposite field hit. |
