Game Notes: Melzarek & Dickson (6) Eastview found the win column again by defeating the Cougars 7-4. It was a big win for the Lightning because Lakeville South was sitting in 3rd place in league play before the night. Eastview got out to an early 5-0 lead because of an executed bunt by Melzarek (2 sac, 1b) to help himself out. That was followed up by an RBI groundout by Allen (2 rbi). In the 3rd, Eastview had their first 6 runners reach, including 4 straight singles. After the Cougars got one in the 4th, Eastview came right back with 2 more with a 2-out 2-rbi double by Devine (3 h, sb). The Lightning held on even though the Cougars scored 3 unearned runs in the 5th to half the deficit. Melzarek (5 ip, 4 h, 6 k) pitched a great game, holding the opponents to only 1 earned run. Dickson (0 er) came on in relief for the first save of the season. The Lightning have the next few days off before facing Lakeville North on Sunday night in a Father's Day Doubleheader. The Panthers are sitting at 3rd place after tonight at 2-1. Eastview will send Sean Devine and Devin Dickson to the mound in the games, respectively. Melzarek (W, 3-2) Dickson (SV, 1)
