Game Notes: The Thunder (1-0, 2-0) opened its 2008 league schedule with a 7-3 victory over Lakeville North at Legion Field Wednesday night. Righthander Casey Jacobson (1-0) went four innings, allowing just one earned run while scattering six hits to pick up the win. He walked one and struck out three. Dan Coyle pitched three scoreless innings to earn his first save of the season. Coyle gave up three hits and had four strikeouts. After the Thunder spotted the Panthers an unearned run in the first, Joel Bertelsen answered with a two-run bomb to left-center, scoring Cory Meyer (21B) and staking Jacobson to a 2-1 lead. Robbie Sikich later plated Andy Dziekan with a two-out single, giving the Thunder a 3-1 lead after one. Dziekan, making his initial start at first base, had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-3, scoring 3 runs and driving in two. Adam Shie had a single and two RBI in his starting debut for the club at third base. Tom Bauer (RS,HBP) and Pete "Z-Man" Zukanoff added hits and Andy Gensch scored once for the club. The Thunder has the next two days off before returning to action Saturday in the Eagan Tournament. Righthander Spencer Pratt (1-0) is expected to get the ball in game one vs. South Division rival Burnsville. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00AM.
