Game
Notes:
The Thunder opened the Firecracker Tournament with a win over Burnsville, 11-2. Righthander Josh "Future" Retka went the route to earn the win, giving up just two earned runs on seven hits. Retka (2-2) also struck out three and walked just one. The offense pounded twelve hits, seven coming in an eight-run fifth inning. Derek Jacobson (3H,2RS,2RBI), Chad Eul and Jared Johnson (2H,3RS) all had multi-hit games. Eul knocked in four runs; Andy Cutter had two RBI and reached three times and Keegan Jindra drove in one and scored twice. Retka helped his own cause with a run-scoring double and a run scored. The Thunder defense turned two double plays and made a key play to end a Burnsville scoring chance. Leading 3-1 in the fourth, the Thunder yielded a one-out walk, followed by a double deep to center. Jared Johnson hustled after the ball and hit cut-off man Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe, who threw a strike to catcher Ryan "Big Ticket" Stepan, who applied the tag to end the threat.
