The Patriots stunned the Thunder with a seven-run sixth inning to win 7-3. Thunder starter Jake Kruegel pitched five shut-out innings, yielding just three hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. Eagan (4-12) touched reliever "Easy" Eddie Hagberg for four earned runs on five hits in the sixth. Hagberg (2-3) walked two and struck out two. The club committed six errors on the evening, leading to three unearned runs. Nick "the Quick" Molitor (1B, 3B) had two hits and scored a run to lead the Thunder offense. Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe (RS), Beau "Ichibeau" Jacobson (RBI) and Jeremy "JJ" McKay (2B,RBI) and Mitch Haug (1B) added hits for the club and John Grotkin had a RBI sac fly. The Thunder seeks to rebound Saturday against Robbinsdale, who is 2-0 after the tourney's first day of play with wins over Eagan (10-0) and Minnetonka (3-2). The club faces Minnetonka in the second game.
