Game
Notes:
The Thunder dropped its season opener to division rival Burnsville at Legion Field, 7-1. The Pythons took the lead in the third, tallying two unearned runs against starter Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe (0-1). The Thunder cut the lead in half in the top of the fourth when "Easy" Eddie Hagberg led off with an infield hit and later scored on a wild pick-off throw. The Thunder offense had eight hits in the game, but left nine runners on base and were 0-for-six with RISP. Landgrebe reached three times (1B, 2B, BB), and Beau Jacobson, John Grotkin, Mitch Haug, Adam Yahnke, and JJ McKay all had one hit apiece. Matt Neutz pitched two scoreless innings in relief, with two strikeouts and no walks. Veteran first baseman Jake Kruegel left the game in the first inning after he was hit by a pitch. He is listed as day-to-day. The Thunder returns to action on the road Friday against Lakeville North. Lefthander "Easy" Eddie Hagberg (0-0) makes his first start of the season.
