The Thunder (1-0) opened its season with a 6-0 win at Richfield. Righthander Spencer Pratt (1-0) threw five shut-out innings in his season debut on the mound, giving up just three hits. He needed only 59 pitches and faced 18 batters to earn the win, striking out six. James Lenz pitched the final two innings in relief, yielding no runs and no hits while striking out three. Veteran John "Rain Delay" Grotkin (RS) and Joe Radermacher (2RS,2B) drove in two runs apiece to lead the offense. Casey Jacobson (RS,21B) and Dan Coyle each added an RBI, with Jacobson turning in the season's first web gem with a run-saving catch in the fifth. Rookie Justin Trusty and Pratt (SB) each scored a run. The Thunder opens its league schedule Monday with a home tilt v. perennial South Division contender Lakeville North. Righthander Joe Radermacher is expected to take the hill.
