Game Notes: Great game today. The team really stepped up and played with heart and commitment. The Torrent played a tough game with a physical presence, but our boys didn't back down at all.

The Torrent would open the scoring at the 8 minute mark after attempting their first corner kick. We would get our own corner kick 11 minutes in and get a fantastic opportunity, but put the ball wide. James came into the game and made a strong run up the middle, getting our 2nd shot on net, but the keeper was able to hang on. At the 24 minute mark, the Torrent would record the first foul of the game, which set the tone for how they intended to play us, phyical and fast. All in all, the Torrent would record 5 fouls, including one in the Penalty area and a register a Yellow Card.

Isaac would bring us to even with a fantastic goal, from a smooth feed off Marcus's pass, at the 40 minute mark, a crossing shot which would hit the crossbar and skim into the back of the net. In the 2nd half Marcus took the ball hard into the Torrent 18 yard box, drawing a penalty. Jack would step up and score a hard low direct shot on the penalty kick, giving us the lead. The Torrent continued their kick and run game, trying to spring their two wingers, but our man marked defense didn't let them through.

Daniel put the icing on the cake with a great end run with an assist from Ben, to score the 3rd and final goal at the 79 minute mark.

A great win for a team that worked hard for 80 minutes.

POG. The player of the game was awarded to Isaac. Scoring our first goal, and in such a beautiful manner, set the tone for the game. Isaac was tireless and late in the game when we needed to keep the pressure on, he ran down the Torrent's defense, making it hard for them to mount a comeback.

Runner up for the POG was Luke. He certainly kept us in the game, with some key saves. He came out and challenged when needed, and stood tall against the 10 Torrent shots today.
