Notes:
Toronto FC squared away against the Crew led by the Magnier twins. Of course, our team is led by the Minion twins so the coaches figured that the teams were at least even in that regard. The first 2 periods, were dominated by Toronto FC as Dan and Richi did not need to make any saves. In fact, I believe that there were no shots on goal in the entire 1st half. Credit the strong defense of Josh, Evan, Richi, Alec, Dan, Drew and Evan for allowing the Toronto FC goalies to rest. Ethan, Matt M., Jake, Matt L., Jacob Gannon, Evan and Josh worked very hard on offense and had several shots on goal but the Crew goalies were incredible and stopped every shot. During the 3rd period, Ethan came off the bench and netted his 4th goal of this weekend from a long pass from Josh. This was Josh’s first assist of the season and well earned as he battled to kick the ball out of the typical 1st grade beehive. The second half ended in no score for either team. However, well deserved praise goes to Matt M., Jake Hyman, Jacob Gannon, Matt L., Richi, Josh, Alec, Ethan for playing strong defense and preventing the Crew from scoring. MVP Offense: Jake Hyman- Jake once again kept the ball down by the opposing goalie area by his strong kicks down the field. He also took some nice shots on goal and if not for the great plays by the Crew goalies, he would have scored. Congrats to Jake! MVP Defense: Drew Felsenheld- Drew has continued to impress the coaches with his strong defense. He was seen several times during the game stopping the offensive pressure applied by the Crew. Drew was also seen taking the ball down the field on offense. Keep up the good work Drew and congrats! |
