Game Notes: The Vikings hosted the Mt Horeb #1 team for the final game of the season, and it proved to be a tough-fought game.

Mt. Horeb would take an early 3-point lead by capitalizing on several fielding errors and some walks, while keeping Pec's own batters from scoring.

In the bottom of the second, the Vikings would get on the board after J. Hendrickson hit a double, stole third, and then came home on a single by A. Kovacs.

After going 3-up, 3-out in the 2nd, Mt. Horeb would rally in the 3rd to bat through their lineup on 3 singles, a double, several walks and some in-field errors by Pec's defense. Despite a change at the mound, Mt. Horeb increased their lead by 9 runs, and it appeared the game was all but lost.

However, to start off the bottom of the 3rd, Pec's A. Truehardt helped turn the tide for the Vikings by powering an in-the-park homerun toward the centerfield fence. J. Scoville's double and G. Daley's single would bring in two more runs to close the gap by 3.

In the top of the 4th, Mt. Horeb would face the 2nd relief pitcher of the night, as Pec's J. Scoville took the mound and struck out their first three batters. He'd repeat the no-hitter in the 5th.

But that allowed the Viking another shot at overcoming their 5-point deficit, and they did just that in the bottom of the 4th. After T. Gilson walked to first, A. Truehardt would advance the runner with his second hit of the night (a single). D. Conwell's walk would load the bases, and N. Gilbertson's triple would bring in the first 3 runs of the inning. More singles would follow by J. Melvin, G. Daley, J. Hendrickson, N. Gilbertson, and another by A. Truehardt for an RBI. All in all, 13 runners crossed home plate as nearly all of Pec's lineup batted twice in the inning.

With neither team scoring in the 5th inning, the score would remain 17-12, until the 6th, when Mt. Horeb would have one last chance in the batter's box. Despite a double, a couple of stolen bases, and a couple of errors on the part of Pec's defense, the Vikings held Mt. Horeb to only one more run...thereby closing out the season with one final victory.

Player of the Game - A. Truehardt
2 Singles, 1 Home Run for 2 RBIs
