Game Notes: The second meeting of the Pecatonica Vikings and Mount Horeb #1 took place under cloud cover and the threat of a chilly drizzle.

Despite the climate, the outcome was similar to the first game, with Pecatonica getting off to an early lead after N. Loyd walked to first and proceeded to steal the rest of the bases, including home. Pec would threaten an even larger lead with bases loaded and two outs, but the third out came when D. Conwell was caught attempting to steal home on a passed ball.

Pec's S. Swenson would take the mound in the bottom of the first and strike out the first batter. Great fielding by shortstop J. Hendrickson made for a quick 3-up and 3-out, leaving the home team scoreless going into the 2nd.

The Vikings wouldn't squander the bases-loaded opportunity the next time around. J. Hendrickson stole home to score the first run of the inning, but a couple more walks and a hit batter would load the bases for a rally that ended with a grand-slam homerun by slugger, D. Conwell.

In the bottom of the 2nd, a single would land one Mount Horeb batter on first, but three strikeouts would leave the base runner stranded and the home team scoreless yet again.

In the 3rd, G. Daley would make it to first on an error and later score. But other Pec batters would also find the strike zone to increase the team's lead even more, such as J. Hendrickson and J. Tollakson, both hitting doubles—Tollakson's for an RBI. J. Scoville got a single, N. Loyd hit a single for 2 RBIs, and S. Swenson popped a SAC for an RBI.

The bottom of the 3rd was deja vu for Mount Horeb, as they managed one base hit only to suffer three consecutive outs.

The 4th inning, Pec scored one run but left bases loaded when J. Scoville was picked off the bag at second for the third out.

Mount Horeb landed two runners on base with walks in the 4th, but one strike out and errorless fielding by starting pitcher S. Swenson, second baseman N. Loyd, and first baseman D. Conwell ended Mount Horeb's hopes of getting on the scoreboard.

In the 5th, Pec's hitters continued with D. Conwell reaching first on a single. He would later score thanks to a line-drive grounder to left field that earned N. Gilbertson a single base hit and an RBI. However, impressive fielding, which included a double play by Mount Horeb defenders, held Pec to that one run.

Down by 12, Mount Horeb had one last chance to close the gap. Facing relief pitcher, N. Loyd, Mount Horeb batters would fare no better. Three strike outs, no score, and the game was called in the 5th on the 10-run rule.
