Game Notes: Blue Jays take the series finale in another exciting game to advance to the 2011 region tournament. In the decisive game, Plato again faced the Irish ace. This time the bats came alive and the Jays pounded out 17 hits in route to an 8-4 win. Tony pitched another gem with the aid of a solid Blue Jays defensive performance. With the win, Plato will travel to Brownton Monday evevning to face off with the Bruins for region seeding and drafting order.

1st Inning - Plato jumps out to an early lead on a lead-off single by Johnson followed by a stolen base and an RBI single by Engelmann. Plato up 1-0.

6th Inning - Plato strikes again with lead-off singles by Maynard and Ode. A sac bunt by Eric moves them to 2nd and 3rd with one out. Lang walks to load the bases and Slater comes up with the one out sac fly to score Maynard. Jays up 2-0.

7th Inning - The Blue Jays get things rolling with 2 outs to open the game up and gain a little breathing room. After the first two batters were retired, Plato strung together 8 consecutive 2 out hits to plate 6 runs and take the 8-0 lead. Johnson, Maynard, Ode, and Eric all singled to score one and load the bases for Lang, who proceeded to drive a double to the right-center gap and clear the bases. A single by Slater scored Lang. Boomer followed with a single and Nixy followed Boomer with a double to score Slater. Boomer was thrown out at the plate attempting to score from first and the inning was over, but not after much damage was done by the Jays. That big inning proved to be all the Jays would need in this one.

In the bottom half of the inning, the Irish get one run back on two singles to start the inning followed by two groundouts to first. Plato leads 8-1.

8th Inning - Green Isle plates another run after a leadoff walk was followed by two singles. A big double play ended the threat and Plato retained an 8-2 lead.

9th Inning - The Irish were not going to go quietly in this one and got the inning started with a lead-off walk. Tony retired the next two on fly balls to center and things were looking pretty good. The next batter walked and two singles later, the Irish had two runs across with two men on for their clean-up hitter. After a fierce duel with the batter, Tony got the last out of the game on a pop out to short. Jays win 8-4!!!!

Offensively, Plato's 1-2-3 hitters (Johnson, Wischnack, and Odegaard) had 3 hits a piece. Slater and Engelmann added 2 hits each to the 17 hit effort by the Blue Jays.
