Zach Biermann hit solo shot to put Suns ahead, Paul Kaufmann drove in the insurance run to give Suns a 2-run lead as Suns hung on to beat Whitefish Bay Varsity 5-3 on Thursday.
With the Suns down 3 in the fourth the Suns were in search of some runs of its own. Sam Lemke got the message hitting a bases loaded double to clear the bases and tie the game at 3.
With the score tied at three, Biermann came to the plate and hit solo home run over the right field ivy putting the Suns ahead 4-3.
Eric Bould got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the second and fourth innings.
Matt Schubert pitched lights out going the distance and getting the win for Suns thanks to seven strikeouts. Matt allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings.
Whitefish Bay got its early 3-0 lead in the top of the second. James kicked things off for Whitefish Bay Varsity with a single. A single by Conway then moved James from first to second. Annis singled, plating James and Conway. Whitefish Bay Varsity added more runs when Leckie scored on an RBI single by Stasiak.
