The Suns collected five hits, but fell 9-2 to Germantown Varsity at Germantown High School on Monday.
Zack Biermann paced the Suns at the plate. Zack went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled both times.
Jordan Kuczynski got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Jordan struck out three, walked one and gave up five hits.
Germantown Varsity was sparked by Jordan and Blake Fleischman, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.
Germantown Varsity didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning when it scored on a two-run home run by Blake.
One run in the top of the fourth helped the Suns close its deficit to 3-1. An RBI double by Paul Kaufmann set off the Suns rally. The Suns threat came to an end when Jordan finally got Nick Reimer to ground out.
Germantown Varsity got three-run rallies in the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, Germantown Varsity scored on a three-run home run by Jordan, scoring Justin Powalish and Sam Midlokowski.
One run in the top of the seventh helped the Suns close its deficit to 9-2. An RBI single by Sam Lemke got the run in. Finally, Jordan got Matt Schubert to fly out to end the game.
