East Suns get more hits, but not more runs in 3-2 loss to Slinger Varsity.
The Suns lost 3-2 in seven innings at Regner Park on Thursday, despite outhitting the Owls five to four.
Turner Pruett handled Slinger Varsity's lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Turner allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over seven innings.
Taylor Lolacero got the win for Slinger Varsity. He tossed five innings of shutout ball. Taylor struck out one, walked two and gave up three hits.
Turner didn't get the support of his defense in key times.
Slinger Varsity stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring three runs on a fielder's choice.
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Suns close its deficit to 3-2. A two-run single by Nick Rosenthal set off the Suns rally. The Suns threat came to an end when Max Merkes finally got Nathan Farrington to strike out.
