Despite Zach Biermann's 3-4 performance at the plate on Tuesday, the Suns took a 20-3 loss at the hands of Homestead Varsity at River Road Baseball Complex. Biermann had two extra-base hits for East. He doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the fifth inning. Jared Stieve got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over one inning. Stieve struck out one, walked none and gave up four hits. Sam Michels was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out none. East jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Biermann doubled, bringing home Gavin Forster after a single by Forster got things started. The Suns pushed more runs across when Biermann scored on an RBI single by Nick Rosenthal and Rosenthal scored on an RBI double by Nick Reimer. The lead stayed with Homestead Varsity after the second, when it scored eight runs on two doubles, a sacrifice fly by Eric Wade, and three singles.
