Notes:
The East Suns lost 6-4 in seven innings at Regner Park on Monday, despite outhitting Grafton Varsity nine to seven.
It was a good day at the plate for the Suns' Nick Rosenthal. Nick Rosenthal went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Sam Michels kept Grafton Varsity off the board during his 6 1/3 innings of work. Michels struck out three and allowed one walk and three hits.
Nate Lukas recorded the win for Grafton Varsity. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered nine hits.
Jonah Maas was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked two and struck out one.
Grafton Varsity went up for good in the first, scoring six runs on two doubles, a groundout by Bryan Sternig, and an RBI single by Will Birch.
Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Suns close its deficit to 6-2. An RBI single by Collin Liebherr and an RBI single by Riley Lutz triggered Easts comeback. Finally, Nate Lukas induced an inning-ending ground out from Dillen Rondorf.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, the Suns faced just a 6-4 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Nick Rosenthal and an RBI double by Nick Reimer set off the Suns rally. But, Nate Lukas got Liebherr to fly out to end the inning.
