The East Suns Freshman racked up six hits, but it wasn't enough, as the Suns were 7-1 losers on Friday at the hands of Homestead Freshmen at Rennicke Field.
Carlitos Salazar and Tyler Craighead had hot bats for the Suns. Salazar went 2-3 and Craighead went 1-1. All three hits were singles.
A Tomkiewicz recorded the win for the Homestead Freshmen. He allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered five hits.
S Driscoll, S Brink and T Woldt helped lead the Homestead Freshmen. They combined for five hits and four RBIs.
Homestead stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the first, scoring three runs on two doubles.
In the fifth inning, the Suns pushed across its only run of the day on an RBI single by Jake Baumann.
After a quick strike from the Suns Freshman, Homestead Freshmen responded with three runs in the fifth. Homestead Freshmen scored on an RBI single by J Bruner, a sacrifice fly by B Ralph, and an RBI single by Woldt.
