Haleyville advanced to the elite eight for the third time in four years and to the final four for the second time in four years. Unlike 2005 when the Lions were eliminated in three games by Jacksonville, the Lions prevailed by defeating East Limestone in three games. The Lions advance to the Championship Series in Montgomery for the first tiem in school history to play the Jackson Aggies.
The Lions advance on the superior pitching provided by seniors Trey McNutt and Lance Gravitt and sophomore hurler Ryan Forester. These three combined to allow only seven runs on fourteen hits in nineteen innings against East Limestone. The Lion hurlers would combine for 29 strikeouts in the three game series!!!!!!!!!
