| When the 2012 Season started I was on the fence. My long time friends and teammates were mostly gone or on their way out. I traded a good friend out of financial responsibility. With changes in my life (My wonderful new wife) and Business I wasn't sure where my level of dedication was. I sucked it up and Santino a best friend and long time teammate and I discussed lets give it one last run. I pushed, I tried to make things work, I found myself getting to the field 30 mins before gametime. That is not how I ran things, I knew I wasnt showing my 100 effort but my dedication never changed. In 20 Seasons of Sandvipers Baseball we had never forfeited because of lack of guys. Well today that changed! With the lack of dedication from players (I apologize to the few who have been there) I have decided to disband the 2012 Sandvipers and I will be walking away from managing the team and organization I spent 8 years building. |

| Sandvipers have joined up with the Weekday Blacksox for the remainder of the Weekday League Schedule. The team the Black Vipers will play 2 Games a week with the schedule rotating Tues thru Fri. This does not effect your playing status with the team, but with the lack of commitment the two teams (who had been filling in for each other weekly) will be better suited to make sure we have enough guys for 1 team. | Paul Haack hits a 3 Run Homerun and Picks up the win with a scoreless 9th inning on the mound. Sandvipers were chasing the Blacksox all game when the Vipers went into the bottom of the 9th down 8 to 6. Lead off man Larry Hamilton Singled to start it off and Steve Johnston followed with a single himself. Santino Dewreede just misses a 3 run home run with his opposite field blast off the left field fence. Greg Shepard followed with a ground out advancing Dewreede puttin the winning run just 90 feet away. The Blacksox option to intentionally walk Thomas Cable to face Haack. Haack hits the 2n pitch he sees over the left field fence to win the game. |

| Justin Pankratz joins the Sandvipers and provides some depth behind the plate. Justin returns from school and is preparing for the next season. After suffering an injury, so he doesn't affect any eligability Justin returns home. In his first Game he hits a Line drive into the gap in left. Justin is a welcome addition to the team. |

| The Sandvipers added 2 Outfielders to the Roster this week. A long time rival while with the Pirates the Sandvipers are excited to have Larry Hamilton in the outfield for them. Larry brings us a contact hitter with speed to sure up the top of the lineup. |

| League President Kelly Nunes reinstated the Dirtbags for play the remainder of the season with some restrictions. The game missed with the Dirtbags will be made up at a date TBA. |

| With incidents that occurred Sunday Feb 26 During the Dirtbags game has forced Vegas N.A.B.A. President Kelly Nunes to Eject the Dirtbags entire team from the league for what Nunes stated "Several of their players were found to urinating on CCSD Grounds;." The ejection has the remainder of the Dirtbags schedule to be forfeits and will not be made up. This effects the Sandvipers as the next scheduled game March 11 was against the Dirtbags. We will try to arrange something in the schedule this weekend to make up for the loss of the game. |

| In a move that may come as a surprise Steve Wright was traded to the Dodgers late Friday night. The trade opens up spots in the Sandvipers roster for a couple of Outfielders. Steve was a nice player to have around but it was time to start getting younger. Good luck to Steve with the Dodgers. |

| The 2012 Season has been uploaded. This is a partial schedule for the first 11 Games of the season. There are two scheduled off weeks in which both weekends have tournaments here in Vegas. If you want me to get you on a tournament team, let me know and I will work on finding one for you. |

| A 3 time MVP Chris has decided that the 2011 Sandvipers season will be his last. Chris ended the year hitting .471, Hitting 8 Homeruns and driving in 54 Runs. Having one of the best individual seasons ever in 2010 Chris won 3 consecutive MVP awards including his 2011 Weekday Co-MVP. His bat will be missed with the Sandvipers. In the future Chris and his wife are looking forward to having their baby. The Sandvipers family would like to wish Chris good luck! |

| The Sandvipers jump on the Braves early and don't let up. Playing the Braves in the Weekday Double Elimination Playoff tournament, the Sandvipers answered back after the loss last Thursday forcing the Championship Finale game. |

| Vic Darnsbourgh had kept the Sandvipers from stringing together any hits. Having stranded 9 base runners over the first 7 innings the Sandvipers couldn't put anything together. In the bottom of the 8th that changed Steve Wright reached on a WP strike 3, Andrew Zoulko then followed with a single to right. Paul Haack strikes out swinging then with 2 strikes but the runners advance on a passed ball. Scott Bergset then gets the Sandvipers on the board with a 2 Strike single to right driving in both runs. Phil Reardon then Strikes out swinging then with 2 outs Greg Shepard singles to drive in Bergset. Sandvipers then load the bases with a walk to Nate Hare and Steve Johnston reaches when hit by a pitch. The threat ends there when Chris Ponto grounds out to the short stop to end the inning. |

| Due to City of Las Vegas doing some field maintenence schedule.will reflect playing Monday and either Tuesday or Thursday each week. First Monday gamenis September 12th at Mt. Ridge park VS Dodgers. Sorry if this causes some inconveinence but the league did not want to continue the 5pm starts to keep the competition level up in the League. | Chris Ponto will officially make his return to the Sandvipers lineup. Ponto recently returned for 2 games with the Vipers White Mid-week team where he hit a Homerun and drove in 7 in 2 games. Chris is the reigning 2010 Fall MVP where he had a stand out season hitting .482 with 24 Stolen Bases, 5 Home Runs and a Sandvipers single season record 50 RBIs in 26 games. |

| The Sandvipers will be the home team versus the Nevada Yankees renewing their rivalry. The teams will battle for the Vader trophy. The Vipers took the trophy in the first matchup of the season when the Vipers won a lopsided affair 23-5. |

| John Birds and Mike Hamilton made their Sandvipers debuts versus the Ambush. Birds was 0-3 while Hamilton did everything and more expected out of the leadoff spot. Hamilton was 3-4 with a double, RBI and a stolen base. |

| Kris Jensen the Sandvipers starting first baseman for the last 2 years has taken a position in California and is relocating to San Dimas. Kris's big personality and Bat will be missed. He was a big part of the 2010 Fall Championship team! Sandvipers wish Kris the best and look forward to having him in some tournaments or when he visits back to Vegas. |

| Sandvipers added All-Star Shortstop Mike Hamilton formerly of the Padres. The Padres team disbanded at end of first half making Hamilton available. Hamilton brins solid defense and is a good fit to lead off for the Vipers. Hamilton will make his debut Sunday July 31 at Liberty HS. |

| N.A.B.A. has announced a new Mid-Week league that Sandvipers will be a part of. Games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 7pm. This is in addition to the Sunday league which will remain Sundays only and seperate. Currently the rosters for this league are being built. |

| 2011 All-Star game saw Sandvipers Justin Hicks hitting 2 Home Runs, Danny Varian of the Nevada Yankees being named MVP and the West losing to the East 9-8. The West had the tying run at 3rd with 2 outs but couldn't get it across. |

| Sandvipers lost to the Dodger Sunday 7-1. In the loss the new Sandviper Paul Haack hit a line drive to the shortstop that started the 6-4-3 Triple Play. That would set the ton for the Vipers as the Dodgers Nava threw a Complete Game and scattered 5 hits walked 1 and struck out 12. |

| Sandvipers added pitcher Josh Arnold (Olympic College) to the roster today. Arnold comes to Sandvipers with 2 seasons with Olympic College in Washington. Adding Arnold to the mix of Clarke, DeWreede, Shepard and Johnston will help improve the depth on the mound. |

| Josh Meents the starting Catcher for the Sandvipers over the last 3 seasons has played his last game as a Sandviper. Josh was injured twice this season with seperation of his throwing shoulder and then received a broken finger when returning from his shoulder injury he took the back swing while Catching. The back swing hit Joshs index finger on his glove hand. He finished the game, but found later he needed surgery. Once his cast came off Josh may have rushed himself a little and ended up once again injuring the finger and will now need a second surgery. |

| Sandvipers used a strong outing by Kyle Clarke on the mound, and 4 Homeruns to beat the Yankees 23 to 5 at Western High School. Clarke gave up 2 ER on 5 hits over 5 2/3 innings. Kris Jensen and Mike Saavadra each homered in their return to the Sandvipers. Also Justin Hicks and Steven Wright each homered as well in the Win. |

| The top Padres player Inf/P Marco Ordaz was aquired by the Sandvipers in a deal earlier in the week. Marco brings his live arm and powerful bat to the Sandvipers. In the same week the Sandvipers will see the return of Kris Jansen and Mike Saavadra Ordaz will be in the lineup. |

| In a match up of the fall 2010 MSBL Championship game the Yankees host the Sandvipers 4pm at Western H.S. The Fall 2010 best of 3 Championship series was won by the Sandvipers when the series went the distance. Its a continued rivalry which started 2008 and Vipers have won 9 of 12 VS Yankees. Wiht their always being some type of a wager on the game, the Yankees and Vipers will start playing this civil war rivalry for bragging rights. Each matchup between the two teams will have the winner walking away with the rivalry trophy! Bragging rights starts Sunday at Western H.S. 4pm! |

| Steve Johnston lead off the 3rd inn VS the Padres at Del Sol H.S. Sunday June, 5 2011 with a Double to collect his career 300th hit for the Sandvipers. Johnstons double was hit into the right center gap and places the Sandvipers career plate appearence leader in the 300 hit club. |

| Sandvipers beat Dodgers in 7 innings 11 - 0. Kyle Clarke has logged 21 consecutive innings scoreless for the Vipers. Clarke has used a solid mix of strikeouts and using his defense over the span. Steve Wright, and Jeff Lundell each hit homeruns, Clarke added an inside the park homerun also. |

| As quickly as they were gone they are back...kind of. Early in the Season the Sandvipers lost starting Catcher Josh Meents to a separated throwing shoulder. While utility player Greg Shepard broke his ankle playing with the MSBL White Sox in the first game of the season. Both players made it back on the field this week, With Shepard playing in the White Sox double header last Sunday, and Meents was back behind the dish. |

| Jason Hernandez joined the Sandvipers this week. Jason is a Catcher who recently played at Collage of The Desert and Barstow. With Meents still on the Disabled List, the Vipers needed depth behind the dish. Sandvipers had already added Sean Reilly this season to e Catching depths and he had quickly become the Vipers starting backstop. Hernandez will make his Sandvipers debut today against the Dirtbags at Foothill Highschool at 1pm. |

| Only 4 games into the young season it is evident that their were some uneven matchups in league play. The most recent was the Naranjeros destroying the A's 37 - 1 last Sunday. Other games have had the Dirtbags beating the Giants 19 - 0 and the Sandvipers beating the Rock Hounds (Twins) 22 - 0. With these recent lopsided wins N.A.B.A. managers voted to restructure the divisions. |

| Sandvipers added 2 players this week. Colton Hindrickson an Outfielder and 1st Baseman, and Matt Eberhardt a middle infielder. These Roster additions come just a day after it was announced Ryan Lilly was lost for the season and Josh Meents would lose time after each suffered shoulder injuries. Meents should be out 4 to 6 weeks. |

The new look Kings have added pitching depth and are coming off a win VS. the Naranjeros last Sunday. The Vipers look to rebound from a loss Vs the Blacksox. |

| Greg Shepard who was looked at to be a main piece in the Sandvipers lineup had Ankle Surgery this week after breaking the ankle on a play last Sunday during the 25+ MSBL White Sox game at Rancho High School. Shepard will miss the entire first half of the season. Sandvipers hope Shepard will have a good recovery and rehab and be available after the All Star break. |

The newest additions to Sandvipers are Nick Ward (Stockton CA 2b/Inf) and Sean Reilly (Arborview H.S. C/OF), Joe Carque (P/OF SDSU) and returning Nate Haberkorn (Utiity). |

| Sandvipers 18 will face the Black Sox, winners of the N.A.B.A. Fall Season in 2010. The Sandvipers 18 coming are off their best of 3 Championship in the Vegas Valley MSBL against the Nevada Yankees. This will match the Sandvipers up with the premier pitcher in the new league. |

| The 18+ Las Vegas Sandvipers have moved leagues. The 2011 Spring Season brings the Sandvipers 18 to the newly formed N.A.B.A. wood bat league in Las Vegas. The Sandvipers join former rivals the Phillies (Now Ambush), Dirtbags and the Rounders (Now Astros). The Nevada Yankees also making the switch with Nevada Yankees skipper Jonny Campbell saying "We want to play where the top competion is." |

| In the Best of 3 games the Sandvipers split with the Yankess in the first 2 games last Sunday November 14th at Hadland. In game 1 the Vipers finish a comback after being down 9 runs to beat the Yankees 14 to 12. Kyle Clarke in relief of Santino DeWreede threw 6+ innings giving up just 1 run. Steven Wrights bases clearing double in the 7th completed the Vipers comeback. |
