Even though the River Bandit's season is over Rockford pitcher, Jason Lesser, gets to play a little more ball. Maple Plain has drafted Lesser to help with their state tournament needs. Lesser had a team high 70 innings pitched for the Bandits this season including four complete games. Lesser will also join Maple Plain with Dassel-Cokato's Jordan Flick and Monstrose-Waverly's TJ Aalid. Maple Plain's first game of the statue tournament will be Friday, August 21st in Watkins at 7:30pm versus Raymond. Good luck to Maple Plain and Jason Lesser. Read More...

Posted Aug 3/15 - No More Ball in 2015 |
The Rockford River Bandits played their first playoff game Saturday night against the Maple Plain Diamond Devils and lost by a score of 5-3. Maple Plain hit the scoreboard first scoring two runs in the second, but Rockford answered right back in the top of the third with two runs of their own. In the bottom of the fourth the Devils got back on top by scoring one. Once again, the Bandits answered right back in the top of the fifth when Bryan McCallum singles after an Andy Jorges double. The game remained tied until the bottom of the eigth when (with two outs) when Lee Gregg hits a two RBI double to right center field. Last night the Rockford River Bandits played the Buffalo Bulldogs and won by a score of 7-4. Bandit's ace, Jason Lesser, looked solid again as he tallies eight more innings to his totals and leads Rockford to a much needed win. Lesser gave up four runs (two earned) off of ten hits, punching out six, and walking three. Lesser started the ninth inning, but after the first three batters all got on base Haven Williams was called in to close the door. In a Sunday afternoon game the River Bandits play another close game and another one run loss. Donnie Mavencamp started on the bump for the Bandits and went 5 innings giving up one run, earned, striking out two, walking four, hit one, and giving up two hits. Cody Kielsa came in to relieve Mavancamp in the 6th in a 1-1 game. He ends up giving up 2 runs, only one earned. Read More...

The Rockford River Bandits have hit a skid before the Indepedence Day break losing eight of their last nine games. Despite the losses games were played tough and defense had kept the games close, but the boys were unable to score big runs when needed. With the Fourth break past the Bandits look to start the second half strong and make their push into playoffs. The Bandits take on the Delano A's tonight in Delano at 7:30pm. Friday night the Rockford River Bandits travel to Maple Plain and beat the Diamond Devils 7-3. Starting pitcher, Lance Reynolds, throws a great game by throwing 8 innings giving up 3 earned off 9 hits, 7 strikeouts, and 3 freebies. Jordan Williams then relieves Reynolds in the 9th to get the save. The bats were hot as the Bandits racked up 17 hits. The offense was led by Ben Fontana and Bryan McCallum. Fontana got two hits with one double and one triple and two RBI's. Mickey gets three singles and a stolen base. Rookies Tommy Traen and Alex Bjorkstrand both get their first and second hits in gray and navy. Jordan Williams, Anthony Brenner, and Donnie Mavencamp all get two of their own, too.
