Posted Jun 17/11 - Clash of the Standings

This Saturday not only marks the 8th game of the 2011 season for the Tampa Bay XFactor Lady basketball team but it marks the clash between two teams with identical records and identical hunger to move up in the standings for the final home stretch towards regional play.  Players have been hard at work to not only redeem their potential ability but the history of Tampa Bay XFactor.  "Its about coming together and clicking on one accord" says player and Coach Donna Carr.  "We have to figure out a system that allows "our" players to perform at their best and thats where the dilemma lies".  Expect to see some much needed play from forward Angelinna Williams and Renae Phelps who are returning members from Tampa's National Championship crown.  New comers Tiffany Barrien and Willonda Windham will also need to contribute if this team does any type of turn-around in time to compete in the 2011 Regional held in Miami later next month.  Game time is at 2pm at the Jackson Springs Gymnasium located at 8620 Jackson Springs Rd Tampa Fl 33615.  Admission is 5 dollars at the door.

Posted May 22/11 - XFactor Reacts!

The Ladies of XFactor showed an immediate bounce back with a win on the road against home team Palm Beach Storm.  After a 1st half attempt by Storm player T. Williams to take control of the game, XFactor had an answer of their own.  With the contributing offensive delivery of power punch back court duo Tiffany Williams and Melissa Guerero, XFactor took over the 2nd half to pull out the victory.  New 2011 XFactor addition Shanterria Robinson played a great defensive game given the assignment to slow Palm Beach offensive threat down.  She completed this assignment by holding the leading scorer for the Storm to 2 field goals in the second half.   XFactor will see their next action against Florida Dream @ 3pm on May 28th at the Brandon YMCA in Brandon, Florida.  This event will help celebrate Memorial weekend and honor the Veterans with a color guard presentation to tip off the game.  Tickets are 3$ in advance 5$ at the door.  Contact Brandon YMCA for further details.

Posted May 16/11 - Too Much For New Kids on The Block

Tampa XFactor is seeing many new faces this year that they will rely on to have a successful season.  Although they may lack the experience in the WBCBL they have plenty of college experience and professional futures ahead.  But on May 14th, the XFactor showed  home opening jitters.  Visting team Florida Knighthawks were dominate from the start as they took a 52-41 lead into half time behind Mitchel, of the Knighthawks, triple tri-fectors. "Many of the players just need to get their nerves exposed and they will be alright" stated Coach Carr of her new team.  "Don't count us out , we still have our core team".  With only one player scoring in doubles figure Tampa XFactor will have  to show a quick adjustment and much improvement as the SunCoast Conference have many powerhouse opponents this year. Final score Tampa X 58, Florida Knighthawks 74.  Tampa XFactor will be away May 21th and return home against the Florida Dream on May 28th.  The game will be played at the Brandon YMCA located off Kingsway Rd in Brandon FL.
