Posted Mar 30/11 - Reminder: Off Season Training begins Apr 5 @615
To all Parents and Players,
Welcome to the East Bay Bucs Flyweight Football. I hope everyone is doing well. We have some familiar names and many new ones on our roster. For those of you new to the team my name is Roger Lowe and will be the Flyweight Head Coach again this year.
The main reason for this email is to introduce our new off season training program. Due to the popularity of 8 on 8 football and the fact that many organizations have a team, the conference has voted to allow year round practice. The only stipulation is that you stop a month before the official start of the season. Our training sessions will focus on speed, agility, and conditioning. At some point we will begin to implement some of our offensive and defensive schemes.
The training sessions will start next TUESDAY, APRIL 5th. The sessions will take place at our practice field from 6:15 - 7:15. If we need to adjust the time to accommodate more people we can. These training sessions are not mandatory but it will be very beneficial to your boys not only for football but for any other sports they may play. Again, we will be performing drills related to speed and agility training. This will allow the boys to not only condition themselves for the start of the regular season practice, but also develop quicker feet, mobility, burst, reaction time, and speed. There will be two sessions per week on Tuesday and Thursday. You can choose to come to one, both, or neither of the sessions it is up to you. I understand many are in the process of playing other sports or have other commitments but the more kids we have and the more sessions you can make the better. Not only for your son, but for the team. Especially later on in the sessions when we start putting in the offense and defense. This type of speed and agility training can be very expense but ours is included in your registration fee.
There will be no pads. They just need to bring water, cleats, and wear athletic attire (shorts and t-shirt). I should be at all of the training sessions unless something comes up and at least one other coach will be there as well.
Please send me back a quick email to confirm you received this and that I have your email correct. Also, please provide me with the best phone numbers to contact you. Please also include any initial questions you may have. You can contact me by cell phone at (813) 299-4552 if you prefer. Thank you for everyone's attention and I look forward to seeing many of you next Tuesday.
