ORLANDO, Fla.- Using a 30-7 run in the second quarter behind a suffocating defense, nationally-ranked Pflugerville defeated South Park (Pa.) 72-51 Saturday morning in the second round of the KSA Holiday Tournament at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex.

Now 22-0 on the season and ranked No. 12 nationally in the espnW Top 25, Pflugerville blazed to a 45-16 halftime lead against the previously undefeated South Park (7-1) squad.

Panther senior guard Amy Staha led all scorers with 23 points. Staha netted a season-high five three-pointers, going five-for-seven behind the arc. She had 18 first-half points. The Panthers hit 17 of their 29 shots in the first half while limiting South Park to five-for-21 shooting from the floor in the first 16 minutes.

Senior forward Diana Omozee added 10 points and a game- high tying eight rebounds while senior guard Brenisha Payne had nine points. Senior point guard Taylor Ross also pulled down eight rebounds and dished out a game-high six assists. P'ville dominated on the boards, 40-16 and forced South Park into 21 turnovers.

There are no Sunday games played on Sunday. On Monday, Dec. 31, the Panthers close out the tourney with an 11:15 am (Eastern) game against Oak Ridge HS from El Dorado Hills, California area. Oak Ridge, 11-1, defeated Tri-Valley (Penn.) 58-49 on Saturday. Oak Ridge is ranked 29th in California's Division I (large-school) standings. Their only loss to date is to the nation's No. 1 ranked team, Mater Dei of Santa Anna, California. The Trojans lost to Mater Dei, 73-43 on Nov. 30.

Saturday, the Pflugerville junior varsity defeated Monsignor Donovan, 47-33 behind a game-high 20 points from freshman post Alexis Bryant and 12 from sophomore guard Alyssa Washington.
