Falcons,
We had
a great meet Saturday in Humble. The freshmen results
can be found here and the junior varsity
results can be found here. Our bus brakes stopped working when we tried to
leave the meet but luckily the Seven Lakes boys were still close and turned
around to give us a ride home. I have asked for a better bus to get us to
Dayton this week. The boys and girls will travel together again this Saturday.
This
week I will order team t-shirts and I have attached the order form. PLEASE
RETURN THESE BY WEDNESDAY. Wednesday I will send the order in to the t-shirt
company and we should be able to get these in relatively quickly. We are
offering t-shirts, long sleeves, hooded sweat shirts and crew neck sweat
shirts. The prices are very reasonable.
The meet this week will by 3 miles for junior varsity and no
freshmen division, so everyone will run in the JV 3 mile race. The 3 mile
course is about 200 meters shorter than 5k so expect those times to be faster. Here is this week’s itinerary:
Dayton is about 70 miles away so we are planning on a 90
minute drive.

As far as last
Friday morning is concerned, the boys were completely safe the entire time. We
were not even outside when the incident occurred. We left the locker room to
begin our run and the police, ambulance and fire department were already there.
We immediately turned around and went back into the locker room. The boys
stayed inside and did not get a practice in. As you can imagine it was a very
emotional day for many. We are moving forward. The boys handled everything very
well.
