After a district win against Adair County on Friday night, the Taylor County Cardinals traveled to Louisville to play Richmond High School at Iroquois High School. The highly ranked team from Indiana pulled out a narrow 62-58 victory against the Cardinals. Foul trouble and a lack of depth plagued the Cards. Freshman David Sloan scored 21 points and sophomore Quentin Goodin chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Senior Caleb Wigginton added 11 points but was unable to get into a rhythm due to foul trouble. The trio of Sloan, Goodin, and Wigginton accounted for all but seven of the Cards 58 points. Most of the Cardinals spent the night in a precarious foul situation, as the team totaled 21 fouls for the game. With the loss, the team falls to 3-1 on the season. The Cardinals will return home this week to play Bethlehem Tuesday night and Green County Thursday night.
