On Sunday evening, the team came away with a second win against their perennial Club rival, the Senior Giants.

With a 3 -2 win, they are now just one win away from sweeping the series and moving into the WSBL final for the first time. We will publish more details of game 2 when they become available.

In Game 1, played on Thursday evening, the Mudcats provided enough run support behind the winning pitching of Aaron Friesen to earn the 4 - 2 win. Greg Penner stepped in later in the game to earn a save.

Kevin Reimer provided a 2-run homer on the offensive side of the ledger.

Neil Walton took the loss for the Senior Giants in an uncharacteristic outing that saw the Mudcats hitting the ball hard.

The schedule for the rest of the series is as follows (all games at Giants Field!):

• Game 3: Monday, 7:30 PM, Giants home game
• Game 4: Wednesday, 7:30 PM, Mudcats home game (if necessary)
• Game 5: TBA, Giants home game (if necessary)
