PFLUGERVILLE, Texas -- The Pflugervlle junior varsity basketball squad
and freshmen A (gold) team both remain undefeated after recording victories
over Waco Midway Tuesday evening. Both Panther teams are now 7-0. The JV
defeated Waco Midway 74-39 behind a balanced scoring attack, while the freshmen
squad edged Midway, 47-44.
The P'ville junior varsity
used a 20-2 run in the third quarter to break up a game which saw the Panthers
hold a five-point (36-31) lead at intermission. Junior forward Kaela Thompson(14 points) and freshman forward Jonelle Smith (13) paced the Panthers. In the
freshmen game, Pflugerville led by four at intermission (27-23) in a
tightly-contested game with Midway. P'ville point guard Taylor Ross netted a
game-high 20 points while forward Mackenzie Browning added nine.
Next up for the
Pflugerville teams are home contests against Bryan HS on Tuesday, Dec. 1. The
varsity game tips at 7 p.m. and is preceded by the freshman A (gold) game at
5:30 p.m. (in the Panther small gym) and the junior varsity game, also at 5:30
p.m. which takes place in the main Panther Gym. |
