This event is our most important source of funds for field maintenance and reducing the cost of playing baseball for our players and their families.

Once again, for 2013, the Elmwood Giants Baseball Club is offering “Cash Calendars” for sale.

This year, there is a special urgency about them. Our field upgrades are experiencing cost overruns. They may be substantial. We will need a successful outcome to this effort to ensure we can meet those costs and sustain the Club for future operations.

Every day in November we will award a cash prize based on the results of weekly draws. Our Grand Prize, to be drawn on the 30th, is $1000. In total, there will be over $3000 in prizes and all winning tickets are returned to the drum and are eligible for all remaining prizes!

The tickets cost $10 and come with additional benefits. As has been the case for the past few years, DOMINO’S PIZZA is sponsoring this event. Each ticket comes with a set of coupons worth more than the purchase price!

The Club has been offering sports opportunities to the community for more than 100 years. During that time, it has been tremendously successful, with a long list of city, provincial, western and national titles to its credit at every level from Pee-Wee to Senior. The teams have benefited from the maintenance of Giants Field, a core asset and endeavours which receive no regular government funding.

The dedication of our Board of Directors to the fund-raising and field maintenance activities are the key to our success.

The Club currently operates a team in the Manitoba Junior Baseball League (AAA), one in the Winnipeg Junior Baseball League (AA) and two teams in the Winnipeg Senior Baseball League. Every year, we plan for the teams to participate in championships beyond the leagues in which they play.

All of the teams' success is based on a winning on-field program of teaching and supporting the players, showing them how to be the best athletes and people possible. This is made possible through off-field activities such as this one!
