Jeannie is a California native who played her first 2 years of college ball with NCAA D1 Long Beach State where she was on the All BWC Newcomer Team and the BWC All Freshman Team and an All Conference player as well. The starter on Long Beach State's Regular Season Runner-Up teams both years as well as Tournament Finalists and Semi-Finalists during her 2 year tenure. Jeannie put up statistical season highs of 10ppg, 4rpg, 3apg, 2spg, 47%FG, 42%3pt, 70%FT.
Once at NCAA D2 Salem International, Saunders was a 2-time All WVIAC Conference 1st Team selection, 2-Time All Region, and 2-Time All American with statistical season highs of 22ppg, 7rpg, 6apg, 4spg, 47%FG, 33%3pt, 83%FT.
With the WBCBL Columbus Hidden Gems, Jeannie Saunders ended with 21.1ppg,
6.7rpg, 6.6apg, 4.7spg, 2FGP: 62.3%, 3PT: 43.5%, FT: 72.7%.
Moving on to Puerto Rico with Cabo Rojo, Saunders averaged 20.0pppg(6th),
47.0%FG(9th), 36.0%3pt(4th), 82.9%FT(3rd) 8.0rpg(21st), 5.5apg(4th),
3.0spg(4th), 0.5bpg(13th) and was on the leaderboard for every statistical category available.
From there she signed with Sweden's top division Visby Ladies franchise and averaged 18.1ppg(4th),
48.8%FG(25th), 38.6%3pt(18th), 6.1rpg(20th), 2.5apg(16th), 33mins per
game.
Jeannie Saunders is the second Columbus Hidden Gems player to become closer to her life-long goal of making it to the WNBA as Brandie Hoskins already has signed a WNBA Training Camp contract with the New York Liberty.
